Most of the pages you find about these subjects are crap, and aren't going to get you much. I have been doing all these things listed since I was 13, and they actually give you money with minimal effort. It's not going to make you rich, but it can definitely help, especially if you don't have any sort of job anyway. And I'm going to be realistic with you, I'm not going to tell you to become a YouTuber or sell lemon aid or anything like that. Been there, done that, didn't make any money. This is a page my little 13-year-old self will wish they had.
Some of these only offer gift cards, some offer visa cards, and some only pay out to PayPal. See the bottom of this pages for all your options with these if you are under 18.
1. Swagbucks
Yeah, you probably have heard everything about swag bucks. The surveys are a pain and take forever, and I said these would be minimal effort. Well, here's my method: keep loot.tv running in the background 24/7 (MUTED!!), every 2 days redeem your points to Swagbucks, do 4-7 short (1-5 min) surveys a day. You won't get there super fast unless you do a lot of surveys, but I am able to cash out $25 once a week with this method.
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android, Computer (works best)
Tips:
Use this link for $3 free on signup.
Just keep an eye on loot to make sure it's always playing. Use Opera GX to lower the CPU and RAM usage of your browser if loot starts making your computer slow. Oh, and keep looting open in a different window than the rest of your browser, and make sure it's a little visible behind whatever else you're doing. If the website thinks you're not watching, it will pause the video, so you won't earn anything. Sometimes loot "runs out" of ads, which means you won't earn anything for a bit (up to a few hours). This will stop all together after a few days of using the site, so you'll earn 24/7 again, in my experience.
How much can you earn a day?:
$3.50
Payment method:
gift cards, PayPal, visa gift cards
2. Streetbees
Steetbees is the survey app for people who hate surveys, such as myself. They're usually around 1–5 minutes long, they're all within the app (so no sketchy websites), and you almost never get kicked out. They want to hear from everyone. And the best part, they don't use points. They send you real money once you do a survey. Each survey is worth between $0.10-$1.50. After you complete a survey, they accept it and then automatically send the money to your PayPal. No minimum, no points, super easy.
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android
Tips:
For open-ended questions, talk in complete sentences.

3. Cashwalk
"Walk" 20k steps for 200 points a day. Cash out a $5 gift card when you hit 2k points. When I was using an android phone, I was able to cash out every day for a bit. That was from their "rewarding games" section. Just play some games while you "walk". If you're on IOS, there are fewer options, but the steps work just fine at getting you to payout. They have surveys on there to get you to your goal faster
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android, Computer (works best)
Tips:
Now, why did i keep saying "walk"? Because you should just shake your phone. There are other tracking apps for steps. if you try to walk all these steps, you'll be exhausted by 10k. I tried it, and shaking your phone is just more convenient and faster.
How much can you earn a day?:
$5 on android, about 10 cents for IOS
Payment method:
gift cards
4. Mercari
This selling app doesn't require tax information*, which is very helpful as minors do not have proper tax information and are not required to pay taxes.
This is what i do: 1. Request free shipping supplies from the USPS website. Only start selling when you get those 2. Find things you don't use anymore. Doesn't matter what it is, list it in case someone wants it. 3. list it under the usual price unless it is a very high value item. Make sure to have the buyer pay shipping, set the shipping provider to USPS, and turn on smart pricing. 3. when it sells, package it up and from there you have 2 options. Either print out the label at home, or walk to USPS and get it printed and shipped it one go for free.
Obviously, walking is only an option if you live close to USPS. If you don't, and you can't print, you can do this: wait til you make 2 sales, use Google Docs and set up the shipping labels so that they fit well onto one piece of paper, walk to a library and get it printed. it's likely that it will cost around 25 cents per sheet of paper you print, so bring some change with you.
If you printed from home or the library, go onto the USPS website and schedule a free package pickup. If you just went to the USPS, they will ship it right then and there, as long as you have the QR code Mercari provides.
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android, Computer
tips:
Communicate with your buyers and ship in a timely manner.
How much can you earn a day?:
Really depends on what you're selling.
Payment method:
bank deposit
5. Honeygain
All you have to do is keep Honeygain open, and you're earning. If you have a slower computer, or you're using a phone, you'll probably only be able to cash out $25 every other month. For doing nothing but making sure it's open, that's not too bad. If you have a computer that's decent, you can cash out at least once a month.
If you have a computer, you can do other things while it's open. If you're using a phone, you'll probably only be able to gain while you sleep, since the app has to be open and running to earn.
Tips:
For $5 free at signup, use this link
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android, Computer (works best)
How much can you earn a day?:
Really depends on your device and how much you keep the app open
Payment method:
bank deposit
6. Small Gigs
This would probably be the best way to get paid if you're able to do it. I only did it for a little bit when I was in school, before I became homeschooled in 6th grade and lost all my friends. It does work, though.
You can do things like mowing or raking lawns, or you can find things around your school or with your friends online. Think of something you know how to do pretty well. Like coding, piercing ears, drawing, writing, or anything else you know how to do. Sell your services to people around your school in somewhere like a discord server.
Tips:
Making money with this is not a definite, though if when you do has a market, you can make some money. You're more likely to sell if you don't price yourself too high, it has to be reasonable.
Devices you can do this on:
IOS, Android, Computer, IRL
How much can you earn a day?:
Really depends on what you're selling.
Payment method:
Most likely cash or PayPal.
Now, if you're under 18, you don't have a lot of options for where to put your money. But, like I said, I've been doing this stuff since I was 13. There is always a way.
Before starting any of this, set up a Step account. It's a free bank account, all you need is a trusted adult to sign up with you. Make sure it is a TRUSTED adult. You don't need your actual parent to sign you up for this. If you're afraid your parents will take your money, ask a sibling, friend, or friend's parent to sign up with you.
Bank deposit only: send it straight to your Step account.
PayPal only: ask a trusted adult to borrow their account to transfer your money to. Pay attention for when it hits the account. Then, when it's there, add their PayPal card to your Step wallet, and transfer your amount to your Step. ONLY transfer what you earned, or you'll lose the trust of whoever's account you're borrowing.
Gift card only: there are two options for this. You can trade it with someone for real money, or use a website that will give you money for it. If you can, trading is your best bet. If you use a website, look for reviews and make sure it's real. You don't want it just taking your gift card and running.
Visa gift card: these can be added into your Step wallet and transferred into your Step account.
